A new Reaper miniatures came in this week also, Unther Godshand, Heroic Cleric. This is a cool model for those of you that don't like the old boring style of clerics.

Warmachine had some new stuff come in. And yes, it's all the stuff we've been waiting for all summer....LEGENDS.
Each Warmachine group got a new epic warcaster and there is a new Eiryss Mercenary model as well. And yes, she's epic too! And of course the Legends rulebook is in.

The Star Wars miniatures game had a huge release this week...KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC. It seemed like all caps was fitting there. The models are very cool for this set (and this is coming from a non-Star Wars fan). Do yourself a favor and check these out.
We also restocked our Privateer Press paint line back to full stock numbers. This should take care of any possible paint issues you guys were having.

We have debated dabbling in Games Workshop again to a small extent. We are most likely going to carry just core box product and take special orders on other items.
If we get more people playing the game in-store, we will look to promote the game with more events and specials.
For now, we have the latest Warhamemr 40K 5th Edition rulebook available.

Season 3 in the Privateer Press League starts this Friday at The Game Closet. Just like previous seasons, this season will have a $12 entry with medals awarded for various achievements at the end of the season. There will also be voting for trophies going to Best Sportsman, Most Improved Player, and Best Army Presentation/Composition.
Also, if you've ever wanted to learn the tricks to painting well, we've got a monthly painting clinic that is being held in store. The next oen is June 14th.

We are sampling a new line of prepainted miniatures from Crocodile Games. Come and check them out.
We are also doing monthly painting demonstrations. These sessions will also include terrain building workshops from time to time. The next one is scheduled for June 14th. These demonstrations/workshop are free, so come and take advantage of them.

We know that we've gotten behind on stocking some of the important Warmachine/Hordes figures. Starting Friday we are going to be in the process of a 4 to 5 week restock. This line has gotten large, with several SKUs, so we are slowly going to restock this line. Friday afternoon, you should see more of the items you need starting to appear on the shelves.
Because interest was high from the this past weekend's painting demonstration, we are planning a monthly paint and build day. This will be a day to come in and get help with your painting and/or learns ome new techniques. It will also be another day designed to get miniature game players together.

We also have a new painting contest that we've just started. At the end of this month each person will be randomly paired with another competitior and it will be an elimination style painting contest. And, each month will have specific requirement of colors that you must use. It will definitely be interesting. It will be unlike anything that we've done before.
Additionally, if you want some painting tips and/or secrets, we are doing a free painting clinic this Saturday (May 17th) at noon. Show up and learn a little something.

Dungeons & Dragons miniatures has their latest set out - Dungeons of Dread. We actually sold through out initial order and then got restocked today. This set is selling well do to it having 4th Edition preview items. It's the first real product with stats for monsters and abilities using 4E rules.

"Breaking the Rules"
At any point during a game, a player may donate a canned good to create an in-game effect. These canned goods are in addition to any canned goods that were donated for the registration fee, so be certain to bring plenty of canned goods so you can break plenty of rules. The following are the in-game effects that are generated by extra donations:
You may donate a canned good to:
Re-roll 1 of your dice. Each subsequent time you break this rule, whether for it’s for the same die or a different die, the cost to break this rule doubles. For example the 1st re-roll=1 can, 2nd re-roll=2 cans, 3rd re-roll=4 cans, 4th re-roll=8 cans. The cost resets back to 1 can at the start of your next turn. You cannot re-roll the “deploy first, go first” roll.
Force your opponent to re-roll 1 of his/her dice. Each subsequent time you break this rule, whether for it’s for the same die or a different die, the cost to break this rule doubles. See Rule #1 for an example. The cost resets back to 1 can at the start of your opponent’s next turn. You cannot force a re-roll your opponent’s “deploy first, go first” roll.
Give your warcaster/warlock an extra focus/fury point. You may only break this rule once per round. This may be in excess of their focus/fury stat, but does not change the stat itself. Your warcaster/warlock receives this focus even if other effects do not normally allow him focus/fury points, such as Severius’ feat or Eiryss’ disruptor bolt.
Remove 1 fury from one of your warbeasts. This fury does not go to your warlock, it simply disappears. You may only break this rule once per round.
Measure the distance between any 2 models on the board at any time.
You may donate 3 cans to:
Generate 1 power attack that is not a charge without the usual penalties of “-2 for a smaller/equal sized target, -4 for a larger target”. It does not cost a focus/fury to perform the power attack. Each subsequent time you break this rule, the cost to break this rule doubles. See Rule #1 for an example. The cost resets back to 3 cans at the start of your next turn.
Have a warjack with 2 open fists perform a Rend power attack. See Hordes: Primal for the ruling on “Rend”.
Move a single terrain piece 5” in any direction before the game starts. Do this before seeing your opponents list. You may only break this rule once per game.
You may donate 10 cans to:
If you win the “who deploys first and goes first” roll, you may deploy second and go first. You may only break this rule once per tournament.
Force your opponent to make one of his advance deployment units non-advance deploy. You may only break this rule once per game. Decide this after seeing your opponent’s list but before you roll for the “who deploys first and goes first” roll.
So, yes, it will probably be a good idea to BRING A LOT OF CANNED GOODS WITH YOU!

Restock on paint brushes. We now have a full line of regular and nylon paint brushes. This gives a great option for both experience and beginner painters.
Restock on paints. As of today we have the full line of P3 paints back in (minus the inks) and the bulk of the Vallejo game color line.
Also, we've got a beginner Warmachine tournament on October 6th (should be in the new location). It will be 350 points and you can use Hordes or Warmachine.
And if you haven't given them a look, HaloClix are very neat. If you are a fan of Halo, you should really give this game a look.
