The Warhammer 40K League will begin on Sunday August 22nd. It will be an escalation league. It will run for 8 weeks with points escalating every two weeks (Week 1 - 500pts, Week 3- 700 pts, Week 5- 900 pts, Week 7 - 1200pts). Players will score 3 points for a win, 1 for a loss and 2 for a draw. You can't play the same player twice in a row.

Somwhere around week 4 we will be hosting a 1,200 points Warhammer Fantasy tournament. Details to come shortly.

We brought in a new miniatures line last week. The game is called Malifaux and it's from a company called Wyrd Miniatures. Check them out at their website. The game is neat. It's done on the skirmish level and it doesn't use dice. It's uses a small statsheet for each piece along with a deck of cards. The best part is that the models are great and you can start playing (rulebook and all) for about $70.

The line is also worth looking at if you're in the market for some different models. These would work well for Dark Heresy, Shadowrun,and most any other similar genre.

We had a HUGE restock of Games Workshop product show up this week. We restocked everything. We even got some blister packs and reloaded our Warhammer Fantasy products.

We have a LARGE restock of GW products showing up on Thursday. And this includes a full Tyranid box restock! And yes, anything anyone had on GW preorder/special order should be here as well. And if all goes well, we'll have the Blood Angels preview items in too!

Warmachine folks should note the big releases last week. The Forces of Khador book is in. There were also several miniatures that made their way to the store:

The Warmachine branded templates are out of stock at the manufacturer. We did get more of the Hordes branded templates in though. These are the exact same templates (as the games are the same), just the logos on them are different.

We also got a few new modelling supplies including some new files sets and drill bits.

We got a big restock on 40K items. But, more importantly, we got in the Battle Missions book, the new Ork Deff Dreads, and the new Venerable Dreadnought. There was also a restock on 40K dice cubes.

We had a serious run on paintbrushes over the past two weeks. We solved our problem. The cups now runneth over with brushes again!

Later this week we'll also have a large restock of all our paint lines.

We also brought in several miniatures storage options. We brought in more cases from Chessex for small point armies. For larger armies, we also brought in Army Transport and Motor Pool cases.

The Warhammer 40K league has begun! Get in here and get playing. Details are on the message forum and we have sheets with all the rules when you show up to play. The event will run for six weeks. This is a perfect excuse to get a game or two in during the week.
Privateer Press has Rutger Shaw, a mercenary solo, arriving this week, alongside the Cryx War Witch Solo model.

Don't forget about the Warhammer 40K event coming up this Sunday (2/7/2010). The event starts at 1:00pm and has a $10 entry. We are aware that the Super Bowl is Sunday. However, the game kicks off at 6:30 and we should be done by then.

In other Warhammer news, the Beastmen Army book is now available for Warhammer Fantasy Battles.

The first faction book for Warmachine, Forces of Cygnar is available. We've got it in hardcover and softcover. Khador also got a couple of models this week: Widowmaker Marksman and the Winter Guard Rifle Corps.

We are hosting a Privateer Press tournament (Warmachine/Hordes) on Saturday January 30th. It will be a 25 point event, cost is $10, and the event starts at 12:00pm (noon).

This week also marked the release of the faction decks for Warmachine Mark II. We loaded up on these and they are still moving at a brisk pace. And on top of that, we also got the new heavy warjack kits in for each faction. In lesser news, there was also a resculpt of Feora and the High reclaimer released this week.

Our next Warhammer 40K event is scheduled for Sunday February 7th. Entry is $10 and the points are set at 850.

Details for both events can be found on our message forum.

We restocked our P3 paints, except for the metallics, which likely won't be back in until March due to some production errors.

Also, if you were waiting on the new Tyranid stuff, you need to get to the store ASAP. These things are selling like wildfire.

This week, we also took the time to load up on all the different sizes of Sabol Army Transport foam.

WARMACHINE MKII books are here!!!!! This might be one of the best ways to start the year. This is a huge release and the books are moving fast.

And as if that weren't enough Privateer Press goodness, we also got in some resculpt models along with new Warmachine and Hordes templates and the latest No Quarter magazine. There were even some Officers and Standard Bearer combos released for the retribution Helbediers and riflemen.

There will be a Waramachine Resurgence event on Saturday January 23rd. It will be 25 point armies and the event starts at noon with a $10 entry fee.

We got a restock on some of the 40K products as well.

Our next Warhammer 40K tournament will be held on Sunday February 7th at 1:00pm with a $10 entry fee (850 pts).

This Sunday (September 20th) is our Warhammer 40K event. This is event #2 in our year long series of events. Be sure to get in here to sign up. If you're not signed up, we can't promise you space to play. There will be some open space the day of the event, but if you aren't signed up, I'd recommend you get here early. Our message forum has all the details and rules for the event posted.

Apparently, everyone loves the Retribution stuff form Privateer Press. We've sold out of two shipments of it. The good news is, we got more in. So, come and get it.

We're also going to start taking sign-ups for the next Call to Arms league: War Torn Fronts starting this week. League fee will be $5 for the entire season. All players will receive and exclusive lapel pin for participation with awards for league progress at the end of the season.

We're also going to schedule our Flashpoint event for Saturday October 17th. This is a 750 point event. Start time will be 1:00pm. Entry fee will be $10. All participants will receive a special retribution button and there will be prizes for various achievment.

Speaking of Privateer Press, we reloaded the black and white P3 primers.

And No Quarter Magazine #26 is in. And of course, it's got more of the lowdown on those peeps from Scyrah.

We worked out butt off to get more copies of Space Hulk. So, if you guys that were short on cash can scrounge it up, we've got a few copies left. We don't expect them to last too long with people planning on picking them up for holiday gifts.

I guess technically this is a board game announcement, but mostly miniatures players will love to hear this:

SPACE HULK IS BACK!

Well, at least for a limited time. We'll have an EXTRMELY limited number of copies. If you want one, come in and place a preorder as they will sell out fast and will be selling for a ton on ebay in short order.

The game includes 35 miniatures - all completely new sculpts for Space Hulk. For the Blood Angels there are 9 Terminators equipped with power fists, storm bolters, lightning claws, a chain fist, a heavy flamer, an assault cannon, 2 Sergeants and a Librarian. Opposing them are 22 Genestealers. And a Broodlord.

Oh, and the Space Hulk itself is massive. We counted 10 rooms, 24 corridors, 8 T-Junctions, 6 corners, 8 end sections, 9 crossroads (including an offset one) and 20 doors (all with detailed plastic stands). All the floor sections are debossed and varnished on very dense card as are all the counters.

This will retail for $99 and should be available on (or about) September 5th.

We had several Hordes new releases last week for the Skorne faction.

We restocked a lot of 40K models.

We got in a couple more figure cases this week.

We picked up two useful items from Games Workshop this week. One is a simple pallet. This is just a nice simple convenience to have around when you are working on models. The other is a water pot. It's a nicely designed up that has a brush holder to keep your brushes clean, but largely unharmed while you're doing your painting.

We've had quite a lot of miniatures game activites going on in store. We've had people playing Warmachine, WoW Minis, Monsterpocalypse, Star Wars minis and Warhammer 40K. You gotta love it!

As a matter of fact, we're making Sundays Warhammer Day at The Game Closet. So, every Sunday, bring your armies down to get your game on!

We've also posted up the rules for the next event in our 40K Quantum Series of events. The date we're targeting for the next event is September 19th.

We got restocked on a pile of the white nylon brushes. Many of you needed more of the 0 to 10/0 detail brushes. They are definitely here now.

We loaded up on new 40K stuff. We've got the new Ironclad Dreadnaughts showing up on Friday right along with the Space Marine Landspeeder Storm. We already got Planetstrike and some of the new 40K terrain pieces.

Monsterpocalypse just released its latest set, All Your Base. This stuff is moving about as strong as the last set, so we're happy with that. It's the same strong quality as the privous sets and there are new monsters and units for each faction.

The first plastic models from Privateer Press, the Examplar Bastions, will be arriving soon. They are nice looking models and when they're fully painted, you can't even tell they're plastic. This is just another example of how the plastics in the industry have become high quality pieces.

We've loaded up on more Warhammer 40K boxes. Stuff for every army has come in over the past two weeks. We also restocked the codexes (codecies?) and starter boxes.

Don't forget about the Warhammer 40K 500pt event we have coming up. The list is filling up fast. We've got the sign-up sheet and extra details posted in-store. If you'r ea beginner and need some rules help, DeQuan is doing some 40K rules session on Tuesday night (6/30) from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

There's a new product line called Army Painter ( Click here to view their website. ). This line of stuff is excellent. We brought in a large chunk of their spray primers. They also have an amazing product called Quickshade. This stuff makes shading your models super easy and fast. We have some on display so you can check out the before-and-after looks. If you're even thinking about paiting more than 10 models at a time, you should definitely look into this stuff.

For those of you that are unaware, the new Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard stuff arrived in store. We've already sold through the Codex, but we should have more by Thursday or so. We're also looking to bring in a few more unit boxes for them.

World of Warcraft miniatures players should be excited. There's finally an expansion set! The Spoils of War minis for this game arrived last week. It's important to snag a few right now, because the set will be playable in the championships this coming weekend (5/16).

Privateer Press just released their updated game rules/adjustments for the MK II rules set. Our local play group is getting together to try these rules out over the next few weeks.

We have several players wanting to get together and play some Games Workshop games. So, we're once again picking up the slack and doing the footwork for you (you guys can thank us later). We've got a sign-up sheet on our corkboard so players can contact each other and get together to play.

Privateer Press players are in for a treat this Saturday (3/28). We've got a fun format tournament. You'll need to bring a 500 point army. But you won't need just one list. You'll need three! Like I said, it's a different event. Call us up and check the calendar for details.

We did a large restock of the Privateer Press P3 paints and for more of the Painting Videos from the P3 folks. We also restocked all the Hordes and Warmachine Battlegroup and Warpacks and a few other core models.

The new Star Wars Miniatures set, Imperial Entanglements Boosters arrived this week too.

Monsterpocalypse's latest set I Chomp New York is in and almost gone. We should be seeing a restock on Tuesday (3/24/09). Rumor has it this is a limited print run, so get some as soon as you can!.

We got restocked on our Warhammer Fantasy and 40K items. That includes both of the large starter boxes (Battled for Skull Pass and Assault on Black Reach). We also restocked the codecies and army books.

Hordes: Metamorphosis is back in and selling at an insane pace.

We've also got a Privateer Press Schism tournament scheduled for March 28th. This event will allow both Hordes and Warmchine minis. Check our calendar for details.

We've scheduled a Privateer Press event....the Schism Tournament! The date is March 28th at 12:00pm and has a $10 entry fee. You may bring more than one list, but can't have a character appear on more than one list.

Additionally, we've restocked our line of smaller miniatures cases. For those RPG players that only have 1-8 miniatures to take care of, these cases are perfect.

We have a lot more miniatures customers these days, so we've taken the liberties to ring in more modeling supplies. We've now got side cutters, drill bits, pin vices and more!

We're gearing up for a Spectral Safari event for the World of Warcraft Miniatures. The date to mark is March 14th. And yes, this is going to be for a Spectral Tiger!

We should have out new Privateer Press Call to Arms league kit on Monday, so expect next Friday (Feb 13) to be the start of the new league.

We got some cool combat mats in from Sabol Designs today. These things are sweet. They are 6 ft. x 4 ft. mats. They roll up nicely, they are textured, and they're extremely durable. For those of you that want a nice playing surface and don't want to go broke putting it together, this is a solid deal. Come in and give them a look!

World of Warcraft Miniatures got restocked on Deluxe Starters.

MonsterPocalypse Accessory packs arrived today. They come in red and blue. These are a bunch of parts that make the game easier to play.

World of Warcraft Miniatures Deluxe starters are in. As a side note, each of these gets you a World of Warcraft loot card that's good for special items in the online game. Each one also comes with six models, dice, bases (even a chance for monster bases), and new high quality boards to play on.

This Friday (12/12/08) we will have demos being run for Warmachine, Hordes, and Monsterpocalypse. Expect them to begin about 6:00pm.

If the World of Warcraft card game isn't your cup of tea, you at least owe it to yourself to come in and try the World of Warcraft miniatures game. It's very good. It's got high replay value. It's got a bit of customization to it. And, best of all, you don't have to buy a ton of models to enjoy the game.

The Star Wars miniatures game had a new release as well. The Clone Wars set is available. The theme for this one is pretty obvious, but that is apparently helping its popularity.

Dungeons & Dragons miniatures had Demonweb, the latest set, release today as well.

Star Wars miniatures had The Clones Wars release. We've got starters and boosters on the shelves now.

World of Warcraft miniatures should be arriving in store Tuesday. It's an amazing game. If you haven't given it a try, you really should. We'll be running demos all weekend and through the week. This game was the hype of GenCon, so you can definitely expect it to sell fast.

Warhammer 40K restock on Assault on Black Reach and the Space Marine Codex.

We got more Sabol Army transport cases in as well.

The store also has a couple of different types of modelling putty now.

Monsterpocalypse has been hot, hot, hot! We got a decent sized restock of monster boosters and unit boosters in, but weve got a very limites supply of starters.

Privateer Press also released the Beast 09 character warjack for Khador and the Skorne Cyclops shaman light warbeast.

We restocked several of our paints that were low and we have more black primer arriving on Friday.

We had the line of Monsterpocalypse show up. This game is red hot. Most distributors have already sold out and are awaiting restocks. I got a chance to demo this back in August and it's a very fun and intersting game with some neat looking models.

For Warhammer 40K we got restocked on the Space Marine Codex and also got in the Sternguard Veteran Squad. There are several palyers wanting to get together regular to play more 40K, so hit up our message forum and let us know what days work for you.

Each Warmachine group got a new epic warcaster and there is a new Eiryss Mercenary model as well. And yes, she's epic too! And of course the Legends rulebook is in.

The Star Wars miniatures game had a huge release this week...KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC. It seemed like all caps was fitting there. The models are very cool for this set (and this is coming from a non-Star Wars fan). Do yourself a favor and check these out.

We also restocked our Privateer Press paint line back to full stock numbers. This should take care of any possible paint issues you guys were having.

We have debated dabbling in Games Workshop again to a small extent. We are most likely going to carry just core box product and take special orders on other items.

If we get more people playing the game in-store, we will look to promote the game with more events and specials.

Season 3 in the Privateer Press League starts this Friday at The Game Closet. Just like previous seasons, this season will have a $12 entry with medals awarded for various achievements at the end of the season. There will also be voting for trophies going to Best Sportsman, Most Improved Player, and Best Army Presentation/Composition.

Also, if you've ever wanted to learn the tricks to painting well, we've got a monthly painting clinic that is being held in store. The next oen is June 14th.

We are also doing monthly painting demonstrations. These sessions will also include terrain building workshops from time to time. The next one is scheduled for June 14th. These demonstrations/workshop are free, so come and take advantage of them.

We know that we've gotten behind on stocking some of the important Warmachine/Hordes figures. Starting Friday we are going to be in the process of a 4 to 5 week restock. This line has gotten large, with several SKUs, so we are slowly going to restock this line. Friday afternoon, you should see more of the items you need starting to appear on the shelves.

Because interest was high from the this past weekend's painting demonstration, we are planning a monthly paint and build day. This will be a day to come in and get help with your painting and/or learns ome new techniques. It will also be another day designed to get miniature game players together.

We also have a new painting contest that we've just started. At the end of this month each person will be randomly paired with another competitior and it will be an elimination style painting contest. And, each month will have specific requirement of colors that you must use. It will definitely be interesting. It will be unlike anything that we've done before.

Additionally, if you want some painting tips and/or secrets, we are doing a free painting clinic this Saturday (May 17th) at noon. Show up and learn a little something.

Dungeons & Dragons miniatures has their latest set out - Dungeons of Dread. We actually sold through out initial order and then got restocked today. This set is selling well do to it having 4th Edition preview items. It's the first real product with stats for monsters and abilities using 4E rules.

Restock on paint brushes. We now have a full line of regular and nylon paint brushes. This gives a great option for both experience and beginner painters.

Restock on paints. As of today we have the full line of P3 paints back in (minus the inks) and the bulk of the Vallejo game color line.

Also, we've got a beginner Warmachine tournament on October 6th (should be in the new location). It will be 350 points and you can use Hordes or Warmachine.

And if you haven't given them a look, HaloClix are very neat. If you are a fan of Halo, you should really give this game a look.
