It's that time again. Shards of Alara goes on sale in just over one week. But guess what? You can play with the cards early. We have a Shards of Alara Prerelease event right here in the store on Saturday:

All players will get 1 tournament pack and 3 booster packs to build from and play a tournament.
Don't forget about Friday Night Magic events either! Those are still happening on Fridays at 6pm.

Not a whole lot new here other than the From the Vault: Dragons. We only got a couple of copies, so it is not going to be for outright sale. We will be doing a drawing for the right to purchase one. These things sell for $65-100 on ebay and they only have a retail value of $35. So, of course these are hot.
Tickets for the drawing will be $1 and you can purchase as many as you like. We will set a date for the drawing shortly and the winners will have the right to purchase the product at retail. We figure this is the most fair way to handle things without playing favorites or selling it for an obscenely high price.

We've restocked the grab bag box. And we've also starting building Standard legal constructed decks for sale again.
Eventide is out and up for sale. We're running low on Eventide Fat Packs, so I'd recommend hustling down to the store and getting one quickly if you want one

We have a couple of events this weekend.
First off, Eventide is for sale and moving fast. So, come and get it!
We also have a Texas Magic Tour Qualifier this Saturday at Noon. The format is Extended, so you can you cards all the way back to Onslsught. And the top two players qualify for a Texas players only tournament. It's like a Pro Tour event for Texans only. We'll have additional prizes as well. Entry fee is $10.
Also, on Sunday we have our Eventide Release Event. It's sealed pack format and the cost is $25. This starts at 1:30pm.

We have a Texas Magic Tour Qualifier event coming up on July 26th. It's Extended format entry is $10 and it qualifies you for a tournament that's exlusive to Texas. Noon start time.
We also have a large Standard event (which is one of the last qualifiers) on September 13th and it has a $20 entry fee. 11:00am start time.
And of course, there are still MTG Booster Drafts on Wednesdays.
Other than that tournaments, which are on the schedule, we've also like to note that we've had a resurgence of Elder Dragon Highlander being played in the store.
And for those of you that like playing formats that allow you to use all your cards, now is the time to be playing in the store. In addition to EDH, we also have people playing Legacy format games. We're also working on some deals that will lead to some Legacy tournaments for higher dollar out of print cards. So, keep your eyes and ears open for those.

Restocks came in for Lorwyn, Future Sight, Shadowmoor, and Morningtide. We also have Shadowmoor theme decks back in.
Don't forget about the booster draft on Wednesday nights at 5:30pm.
We also have the Texas Magic Tour events rolling through the store this summer.
And you'll need to keep your eyes peeled for our Sunday tournament series this summer with some fun formats.

We have the 3rd Annual JDS Events Team Challenge coming up in August, so start getting a group together and making plans for that.
Regionals is also this Saturday (June 7th in Dallas).
We still have Wednesday night drafts at 5:30pm weekly. And of course there's still Friday Night Magic every Friday (Standard Format-6:00pm).
We're also in the middle of working out the details on our MTG summer series of tournaments. These will be tournaments held on Sunday afternoons for some fun prizes and they will lead up to a final tournament at the end of the summer.

Don't forget that Wednesday at 5:30pm is MTG Draft Night at The Game Closet. We've gotten a draft off for several weeks in a row now. Don't be late. It's a different way to play Magic and you don't even need to prepare a deck. Show up and give it a shot.
Regionals is quickly approaching. If you want practice playing Standard (Type 2), I will have some decks together to play against during the week. Feel free to bring up your stuff and get some games in. Also, for extra practice we are considering some Saturday tournaments if everyone is interested. This will give you a couple of weeks of preparation for the big event.

Players are interested in playing more formats, so we are going to try and deliver that for you. Through the summer we plan on hosting random formats on Sundays.
And since we have so many people that want things to do on the weekends, we are considering hosting Booster Draft events on Saturday afternoon/evening (possibly starting as early as this week).

Shadowmoor, the latest MTG set is out and for sale. We've also gotten our Shadowmoor singles sorted and ready for sale. We are planning on running summer tournament series for MTG that includes a host of Sunday events. Players want more to do on the weekends, so we plan to deliver.

We had a problem with our order today and the bulk of our Shadowmoor product will be arriving tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that this incident that was beyond our control does not cost us your business.

We reloaded a bunch of the packs this week. Also, don't forget about the normal weekly events.
And we have a Shadowmoor release event this. It's Saturday at Noon and the cost is $25. It will be a sealed pack event.

We got slammed on our MTG supply, but we got all of it restocked this week. So, come and get it. We've also loaded some more singles in both the display cases and the boxes.
We are working on getting more people together to play Legacy format as well. So start your deck building. Don't forget that a lot of us still have Eldar Dragon Highlander decks together also.

We just completed out final tournament for the City Champs event and we are sending congrats to Thomas Parker and Paul Hagan for being the two players that will represent the store in the in the area tournament.
As usual, don't forget about Friday Night Magic.
And if you MTG players have nothing to do on Saturdays, come on in. We are going to be playing more odd formats like Elder Dragon Highlander.
